Four young men who do not know each other, individually make the decision to leave their beloved Zimbabwe, a country in crisis and head to South Africa. They must leave behind friends and family and for two of these men that means leaving behind the grandmothers who raised them and for another it means leaving his child. The physical journey will not be easy. They will be reminded of the horrendous refugee situation at the border with South Africa and they know xenophobia will lie ahead. You will see these men demonstrate passion and determination as they set themselves the unimaginable goal of becoming sommeliers. Four men who had never raised vines, never tasted wine and when they did they didn’t particularly like it. They will inspire you as they learn the skills to identify wines by grape variety, country of origin, region, producer and vintage, working with coaches as they set themselves the goal of participating in the white man’s world of an International Wine Tasting Championship in Burgundy, France. |
